COVID-19 Special Operations Bulletin
COVID-19 Changes to Operation
With the onset of COVID-19, our learning studio, as with other facilities, has had to make changes to the way we operate. Here are some of areas we’ve had to modify.
Daytime Cleaning and Disinfecting
During the day our facility manager will be regularly wiping down frequently used surfaces like door handles and switches. You can minimize your chances of infection by not touching light switches and door handles when not necessary. You desktop will be cleaned prior to you using it and after.
Room Capacity
Currently (as of July 1, 2020) the City of Toronto is in Stage Two of COVID-19 reopening. As a result we are restricted to a maximum of 10 people in our space at any one time. As a result we have removed desks and seating to restrict capacity. As a result our seating is 10’ apart and provides plenty of social distancing.
We are also only accepting bookings for Exams, and are setup in a classroom format.
Check In Procedures and Visitor Tracking
In order to assist with tracking potential exposure to COVID-19 should a case be discovered among staff or guests of our learning studio, we required everyone to check in upon arrival. The check in process will be done via an online form. The form is accessible by scanning a QR code at the entrance, or at your desk or by visiting a URL. Keeping this check in process digital is not only sanitary but it is also better for the environment as well.
Breakfast, Breaks and Snacks
Until further notice all food will be served in individual, prepackaged containers. Breakfast will either be waiting at your desk or served shortly after arrival. Break foods will be brought in and distributed at predetermined break times. Lunches will be individually boxed and will include disposable plates and cutlery. Learner First will be purchasing additional carbon offset credits at the end of the year to offset the addition environment footprint this change will result in.
Sneeze Guards & Personal Protective Equipment
Our room is set up to provide more than the 6’ required spacing in between desks and is also equipped with Plexiglas shielding for each desk. However, entering the facility and getting to your desk will require you to occasionally pass other participants, therefore we ask that you wear a mask when entering the facility and getting to your desk. Once at your desk the choice to wear a mask is yours, however, anytime you leave your desk you must wear it.
Elevators, Washrooms and Building Access
Our building management has put in new protocols for entering and maneuvering though the facility. In general, here are some of the more common changes:
Access to Building -
Elevator Usage - limited to 4 people in main elevators, 2 people in parking shuttle elevators
Masks / PPE Requirements - please wear masks in all common areas and in the elevators. Hand sanitizer can be found in each elevator lobby on every floor.
Washrooms - are restricted to 4 people at a time and masks are required.
Also, they have added an enhanced cleaning and sanitation schedule.
